New to 1 gn not to neons

Hey guys I currently have a 2gn but im selling it and getting a sport or expresso I want a dohc and im trying to find a turbo kit to slap on it I will be getting the car withn the month also if I dont go turbo what mods should I get? Final ? What is the engine number for the 2.0 dohc thanks guys

If you don't go turbo...get a Mopar computer, iceman CAI, and a nice header. Maybe even get the Thermal exhaust from modern.

No one refers to the neon engine by its engine code. But...the sohc engine is 'ECB' and the DOHC is 'ECC'

What I ment by code is like the eclipse is a 420a what is the neons

isnt the Dohc engine called the D4RE?

I know what you meant...according to the neons.org FAQ...what I listed was correct. Once again...it's mostly irrelevant because no one refers to it that way.

D4RE is typically what they call the 2.0's that came in the cloud cars. ECC, ECB, ECH, and A588 are all different versions of neon engines.

Well any ways what kinda power would I gain from the headers intake and exhuast the car im getting is a 96 plymouth acr hehe

If its all about speed, the 1gn with stick shift feels nice and quick. Pull some weight off it and that 150whp will pull nicely.
My sohc was making 122whp with the PCM, CAI, Accel coil, shaved head to increase compression and deburred/mildly ported heads. Stock exhaust to keep it quiet at idle, but it screamed at WOT. You'd be killing civics all day with those mods on the dohc.
