My first head porting job.

Post by Boostedpdx » Wed May 04, 2011 12:50 am

So this is my first head porting job. I think it turned out alright. What do you guys think?

Before: Just outlined the gasket match.

looks good. little bit of edging should finish it up nice.
It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

No cams?.. I'd say at least make more use of the porting with stage 2's or crane 12's or 14's

Ya for now cams are not in the budget for the DD. The porting was free, just took my time. :)

What's the seat area look like? And you didn't knife edge the intake runners, not really a big deal, but it's worth a bit of flow. I had mine professionally done for less than used stage 3 crower cams would cost. I know how to, I just didn't have time, patience, or the bits to do it. This guy did an excellent job, and I couldn't have gotten a better job anywhere else. And best of all, he's a great bud, so he charged me almost nothin' for it.

Intake runners... This is a head not intake manifold. It has ports not runners. And knife edge the ports openings are not necessary. And good for you paying someone else to do your stuff...

i do agree, knife edging the ports wasnt really necessary but it does help. looks cleaner anyways. and who cares if he paid someone. we cant all do it ourselves. i still say it looks good.

Yeah, sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. But hey, I wanna see yours do half the flow his will and then see why I paid him to. You have big issues by the way, or maybe you just don't like me. Meh, who cares.

Half the flow: Sure... you pay for flow testing and ill show you its flow.

have big issues: No you just talk out of your ass, and say things you have no clue about. So I reply accordingly. If you don't like it... don't reply to my posts and there will be no issues.

I haven't said anything out of my ass to you. So screw off. Just trying to be helpful. And it's not just about how much if flows, but the quality of the flow. Sure you can have something that flows 400 cfm but that does nothing for you if it doesn't mix the air and fuel well.
