Priming Melling oil pump.

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons? just anything that is generally "engine" specific.

Priming Melling oil pump.

Post by Red97 » Thu Sep 03, 2009 7:59 pm

I just bought a new Melling oil pump (model M190, stock pressure and flow), and I can't find any good info on how to properly prime it so I don't damage anything. Has any one replaced their pump and how did you prime it?
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average!!

kill fuel and ignition and crank the engine for 10 sec. or until oil pressure comes up.
