See I've been playing with this idea as well but first I gotta fix the front end after we pick up that front clip to weld in :)

I'm diggin this project, with a fog bumper and sitting a little lower, I'd rock the shit out of that as a DD for what you've got in it (BTW, what's the total so far?). You've got me thinking about picking up another Neon soon.....lol.

My CRX faithfully gets 40+ MPG on long trips, and that's running 70 at 4K RPM (B18 w/B16 tranny). I'd like to pick up a MTX 1st gen sedan and do a very similar treatment for a daily so I can park the Honduh.

Ive got about $600 into it because I had to replace some parts that were old and rusted. :x

I dont think Ive spent that much considering I have a reliable beater that gets such great fuel economy. I really want to take it to the local drag strip and see if I can get it to run 16's.

Edit...

I just realized who you were after looking at your profile, I'm at Wyotech too, but I graduate on the 21st.

I've seen your R/T around a few times, looks nice and clean!

Maybe, but it's a piece of paper that will get me a better job than I would have gotten prior to coming here, plus I now have an Associate's Degree in business.

I can't wait to get the hell out of here though.

Nothing wrong with just getting same degree at a tech college. My school seems to do a damn fine job putting out good techs. 1st place at national SkillsUSA auto competition came from our school, and I think 3 years ago as well. $3000 per year :)

Nice.......I'll be done in less than 2 weeks and that'll wrap up my 9 month sentence, but my bill has an extra 0 at the end (doh!).

I'll be done in May, I plan to do better than 3rd at state this year at the Skills USA competition, maybe get more than $400 worth of free Snap-On and Matco tools lol. Kyle got at least $15,000 worth of free shit for getting 1st in the country, and Chrysler donated a brand new Sebring convertible to our school to play with. White drop-top. It's sexy, too bad it'll never be driven on the streets again.

Wyotech isn't a bad school at all. There are a lot of idiots that go there, unfortunately. As with anything, you get out of it what you put in it. The school carries a huge reputation for being the best, and the name is what can land even the morons a good job. I personally have had great success at Wyotech. I was just notified today that I was accepted into the National Technical Honor Society (I didn't even know that existed  ). The school someone goes to doesn't make them a better tech, its the effort they make to be the best.

Suave, are you in ASM now? My R/T has been sitting in the compound on the side of the admin building because I took the engine out in chassis fab. Im done in two weeks as well, so Im kind of hoping to get it done soon. I thought about staying another three months for HPPT, but thats another $8500 just for the class.

Wyotech isn't terrible, I just think it's over-rated and way over-priced. You can learn just as much at a regular tech school as long as you try and they have good instructors.

Very true, Chip. To some degree, Wyotech is over-rated, and thats why its over-priced as well. You pay for the name. Same with UTI. However, I would be willing to bet almost every automotive service center around the country knows the name Wyotech and relates it with prestige. No other tech school shares that reputation. Hell, even race shops and teams know the name. After seeing some of the people that graduate from here, I wonder how a lot of shops don't have a bad impression of the school.

Think about it this way; Wyotech is like the Harvard of tech schools. In the worlds eyes, even the dumbest person that gets a degree from Harvard is seen as smart and successful. They may or may not be, but they graduated from Harvard, so who cares?

Nice analogy, and very true.

I'm in refinishing right now, ASM was my first class. I've debated adding on classes before, but I feel like I've learned what I came to learn and anything added on would just be for my personal knowledge and I can't justify paying $8500 or so for something that I could probably learn along the way for free through friends and coworkers.

What part of Ohio are you from? I'm SE Ohio and plan on staying in my area after graduating.

My cousin went to UTI and said it was the biggest waste of money ever, he'd rather have bought a bigger fishing boat cuz he's made over $500 a weekend as a musky guide. We caught 3 decent ones on Saturday :)

I like my school though, it may not have the flashy name but employers around here sure as hell know about it and the Skills USA thing will (and has helped) me get a decent job. :)
