Lol, I'd come help but school just started up and 30 hours of school and 40 hours of work each week ties up my time.

And I've pulled 3 engines out of two cars and installed 2 of them into one car since Thursday, I'm sorta sick of swapping engines

Your pics look like what I just did yesterday after class, except I did it all in one day.

45 minutes to pull 2.4/3.94 out and set it down,
2 hours to pull SOHC out (damn rusty bolts and crooked engine bay),
an hour to bolt it into the other car,
another hour or two to convert all the plugs from 96 DOHC to 95 SOHC plugs (that sucked) and another hour getting it all finished up.

Time to get some kitty litter and clean up my mess... Told my step-dad I should drain the trans first, but nooo... It was way too exciting to drop it right now ;]

Haha just playin... It'd still be in the car if he wasn't here.

Yea, but it all leaked out from disconnecting the axle, and I just wanted to get the motor out of the car...

did you just saw that axle off?
I see it's still stuck in the trans.
Would of been a lot less work to just pull it out.

Yup, looks like he cut right through the CV plunge joint and left the boot intact.

Or maybe he just yanked it out of the boot since it comes apart rather easily there. Same thing I do at junkyards when I don't need a certain part, break or cut it, but axles are so much easier to get out of your way that way.

nm i got confused i was thinking this was the engine from his DD.

If i'm understanding correctly this is the engine out of the donor ... that's where i got confused.

I was gonna say i think he may need that passenger side axle

Lol, well it's still bolted to an auto trans (dipstick is one dead giveaway) and you can still re-use that axle. "Proper" way to do it is to get a new boot kit, which normally comes with the axle grease and 2 new clamps (which are one-time use only). Clean up joint, put boot on and fill joint with grease, clamp down boot.

Or you could just throw it back together and run it with torn/open boot like I did for like 9 months on passenger axle and 2 months on driver's side axle. No clicking or anything, they still work fine but I put in different ones with the SOHC since they were right there.
