if it has the lope sound then it would be misfires and you should be getting code(s) for misfires.

Unless of course your running bigger cams.

Well if it's just misfiring when you start it up check to see if your spark plugs are bad, clogged injectors, fuel pump failure, vac leak, do a compression test on it, and check for any oil leaks.

If none of those check into your EGR system do a small tune up plugs, wires, filter, ect ...

Pull injector plugs one by one to see which cylinder is misfiring. Start there, then figure out if it's due to spark or fuel, or hopefully not compression.

So explain how bad fuel pump, vac leak, or oil leaks would cause a single cylinder miss.

bad fuel pump - not enough fuel delivery to the car will cause it to misfire.

Oil Leaks - bad head gasket will cause an engine to misfire.

Even as far as getting a little water on your map sensor can cause a misfire.

I thought they were teaching you something over there? ... and you keep saying this is your "career" of study?
Good thing you still have 1-2 years left.

Also i forgot to mention the vac leak ....

vac leak - could lean the a/f mixture out to extent to where the engine will misfire; same with an EGR valve that is stuck open as it would act as the same as the vac leak.

Ask your so called teacher, since you don't believe me.
