[98 SOHC Motor Project] - Detroit Mini-Muscle
Basically, the end goal of this project is to teach myself how to teardown and rebuild a neon engine. So far, this project has not done that as the garage has really just been in complete disarray and therefore I haven't gotten my block over to the machine shop because it hasn't been disassembled.
Anyway, I need a camera so the next step is exactly that: buy a camera.
Will update later this week.

Stockish stuff, defintely. Megabuck stuff is just out of the question.fusion210 wrote:Cool, I've only torn them up before.
What parts are you going to be using for the rebuild? Stockish stuff or megabuck stuff?

Update 1/18/07:
Got an amplifier and a small tube subwoofer. I wired it all very nicely, then found out the amp was shit. Oh well.
Here's a bit of information for those who haven't ran any wires in their neons:
1. Almost all of the panels just PULL off, and snap on. Very few of them have screws.
2. The weather stripping pulls off and on very easily, so don't be afraid of it!
3. The carpet is not glued down, it is just being held in place but things that snap down! The kicks in the bottom of the door jamb just pry off, then you can pull the carpet back.
4. The seats are FOUR easy bolts. The rear seat actually just pulls off.
Don't be afraid to work on your neon! They are inexpensive for a reason; all of the parts on your neon can be bought very cheaply if you break it by accident! Also, please make a note that you should always disconnect the positive (red) battery terminal before working on your neon. Keep up on maintainence and the car will keep up with you!
Also, I took apart the driver's front caliper and cleaned it out real well; it was sticking. The car's odometer reads 93xxx, and I am driving it to Toronto next week!
