camshaft issues

ok, I have a 97 neon highline DOHC. Had a bad head and gasket, and bought a rebuilt head from Cylinder Heads International in grand prarie,tx. MY original cam # was a 917 on the front cam. The new head came with a front cam # 8AA. Whats the difference? I have compression without the cams installed, no compression after cams are installed. ( timing is correct).
