Bad Miss

Post by Stags » Wed Mar 14, 2007 3:44 pm

I washed the engine down at work today, and it drove home fine. Then a couple hours later I get in it and go in town, and about halfway there going up a hill it starts to miss really bad. I finally pinpointed it to missing when the gas pedal is pushed down really far. I checked the plug wires, and now im gonna make sure it didn't suck up any water. Do you guys have any other ideas? I didn't wash the engine that long so who knows.

As I suspected, it was just a little water by the spark plugs. Must have gotten down in there somehow.

I've done that a few times. Usually just wait and see if it keeps up.

That stuff works wonders. I also like to use petroleum jelly on the battery terminals to prevent corrosion.

That's funny because the other day I pressure washed my engine and mine started missing, but at low rpms... It was just some water that got into the connector for the coil. No biggie... :D
