tranny option help

Post by blueneo03 » Tue Feb 07, 2012 9:11 pm

so i've searched and i cant seem to find the answer...

I have a 98 sohc mtx sedan

my 5th gear syncro is going out

i need a new tranny and want to get a good one.
i know that the 2000+ are hd and can handle more abuse
but what is required to use this tranny in my neon?

or would i be better off just getting one from a 1gn?

the second gens i belive use a hydraulic clutch master setup so without serious mods, they dont just swap in. are you going to run the sohc motor indefinetly? cause a trans swap isnt too bad an idea. the r/t trans are geared nice. but i swapped mine out for the 3.55 trans. i think yours is a 3.55 anyways. in closing, use the 1gen trans that came in your car if you cant get a 3.94 r/t trans.
It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

Well, the 02+ cars were hydraulic clutch assemblies, if I'm not mistaken. So any 00-01 has the T350 HD which has a gearset similar to a DOHC, ACR, or R/T, but also is a cable actuated clutch. If I were looking for a trans though, I would get a T350 HD from an 03-05 R/T, put my cable actuated bell housing on that trans, and toss it in the car.

The DOHC/SOHC shortblock is identical (somewhat), so yes, a DOHC transmission will fit your SOHC

Skills select control time: d3 undoubtedly better than the previous Diablo version a lot more, each character has one or more control skills, deceleration, halo, frozen, repulsed, if you can effectively control the opponent opponents control, WOW Gold then no doubt you can be safe output, greatly extending the effective safety output time.
