weird grinding/vibration

regardless of either sitting in park or driving my neon will make a grinding-vibrating noise and cant seem to figure where its coming from. any help would be greatful. i havent had my neon too long so still getting into figuring everything out

Check your motor mounts? They tend to come apart and there will be vibration throughout chassis.

it wont be a consistent steady noise. itll do and stop for a sec and go again then continue for a couple seconds and stop

Mine did too. I think my throw-out bearing was bad. Or the oil slinger needed to be cleaned and modified.

ive owned 3 neons now 2 1st gens and 1 2nd gen and they all made the mysterious rumble the entire time ive owned them. i beleive this wierd noise comes from the transmission. it comes and goes but nothing bad has ever come from it...just sounds like crap....
