Should I turbo my Daughter's 95 NYG ACR

Post by guyd_15 » Fri Mar 09, 2007 9:40 pm

I've got a complete SRT4 turbo set up. Should I put it on my Daughter's car?

What do you guys think?

I'd say it depends on how mature she is. If she's one that you think isn't responsible enough to have the extra power then I'd say no. If she is then why not. I'd just make sure on your part that it's reliable so she isn't stuck on the side of the road somewhere alone b/c the car broke down :-?

I dunno. My very responsible daughter didn't do so well. I bought her a beautiful '91 Mustang, all the GT apperance options, fresh paint, everything but the cruise worked. It looked fast, but had the 4 cyl and the auto. I replaced the transmission twice and she wrecked it twice. The last wreck would have been a total, but a friend with a body shop straightened the subframe and hung the J/Y sheetmetal. I didn't have it repainted, just to teach her a lesson. One chalky white fender, one rust brown fender and a purple hood. Looked very very ghetto. A kid's first car should be a crashworthy throw-away. Maybe the 2nd car should be the turbo.

I think not. Why does she need the extra power?

even the stock neon has enough power to keep you in trouble! why make it quicker.... send her out to bondurant than let her build it herself.. things tend to matter more when its your money.

Or a lake with a good thick ice... just got back from the ice races... if you can drive there you can drive! i bet them ice race drivers could put most those drifters to shame, I don't think their was a single point in the race that these cars were straight. and they were all Fwd going about 90!

If she can handle it then what the hell but make sure you have a good fuel management if she is driving the car daily. Megasquirt ftw!
