Gtech accurate??

Post by 99dohcneon » Mon Mar 05, 2007 9:01 pm

I got a newer gtech I ran my car a few times. Here is the best time tell me if you think its accurate or not. Also tell me if the time is good for my car. I cant find a flat spot long enough to do the quarter. May have been windy when I did these not sure.

r/t 1.166 (I know its terrible Im not used to the gtech)
60' 2.638 (wheelhop)
330' 6.664
1/8 9.922
et for 1/8 77.82
60mph 6.676

The track here is closed til it gets warmer so I havent ran it yet. What do you guys think?

I can't tell you for accuracy but just remember, they're only as accurate as how close you calibrate them. That means going to a truck scale and weighing your car and getting your RPM calibrations as close you can possibly get them.

I need to go to a scale. I put my car as 2700 with me and I have a system I figured that would be close. I weight 175 I have no a/c or p/s in a 2.4 also have 17s

I added a cig lighter plug with wires ran straight from the battery. I heard its supposed to help.

I guestimate 2470 for a sohc 5 speed with a/c and no power options. From adding when I weighed my car at Rockingham Dragway and adding in the weights of the parts I removed.
DOHC is going to add some weight and a few things like having drums and no rear sway will remove weight.

My R/T sedan with power everything, 1/2 empty tank, no rear seat or rear door panels, or spare tire still weighed 2640

my old expresso with power nothing(still had AC & PS) no rear seat or spare weighed 2430

so those options add alot of weight

I had to chance to play with one of these the expensive one, like 400 bux. My buddy got it as a gift from his sweetie.... I had my car to the track previously, 15.5s consistantly. So we went to the local truck stop and got a certified weight. Punched it in and set up the RPM it asked for. It was within 1 tenth of everything in the 1/4 mile program... the hp program was off though. the g force program was pretty close also.... all in all its pretty good.

Probably the same one they only had the first crappy one and the newer ones. It seems constant after I ran it a few times. Like you said hp is off its always different.
