If your check engine light doesn't come on when switching the vehicle to the ON position without starting the bulb is either burned out or someone took it out. Put an OBD-II scanner on the car and check for codes. Check that all the sensors are working as well if the scanner has live data capabilities.

The 95's have a 10 gallon tank. The 13 gallon tank came in 96 and later models. I'm hoping that someone can figure out what the cause of this problem is, as I'm having the same problem. I was told it's probably my MAP sensor and/or the canister purge control solenoid. I'm going to try and test/replace both sensors and see what happens when the weather in my area dries up some or I can get some parts I'm painting out of the garage.. whichever comes first.

Looking at the Haynes manual, possible causes for "Excessive Fuel Consumption" are:
1. Dirty or clogged air filter element (Chapter 1).
2. Emissions system not functioning properly Chapter 6).
3. Fuel injection system not funcioning properly (Chapter 4).
4. Low tire pressure or incorrect tire size (Chapter 1).

I'm running 205/40/17s and up til this point, I never had to worry about burning through this much gas in such a short distance.

Exhaust leak before upstream o2 sensor thinking the car is running lean and lengthening injector pulse width?
