exhaust.....what would you do?

Post by 99_fly_by » Fri Jan 15, 2010 12:29 am

heres my current dilemma. my exhaust (BBP header, Magnaflow hi-flow cat, resonator (the problem) to a 1 in 2 out muffler)
the muffler is this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Ne ... ccessories

the resonator at speeds of 70mph or higher shakes and WAILS the floor of my car right under the shifter/arm rest area. my options are....look for a resonator with a 3" body (3.5 now), lower the exhaust (rather not do because of SHIT new england roads), or just chop it out and run a new piece of pipe. my question is.....will i be all raspy and such like a honda without the resonator or will i b ok? ill take a vid of the exhaust tone tomorro and post it.

Your exhaust shouldn't be raspy without. You still have a catalytic converter, so that should be enough to quiet it down.

hes talking about the outside diameter of the resonator. the muffler he has has a 2.5" inlet so I bet he has 2.5" piping.

so he bought piping that was .25 bigger than stock? my guess is the pipe is stock at 2.25 but i think your right that he is talking about the resonator.

I voted for "chop it out and run a new piece of pipe in its place"
