Polishing Valve cover-Pics!

Post by Tyler » Sat Feb 24, 2007 2:35 pm

Im in the process of painting a vc for my car. I stripped it, self etch primered it, and painted it red. I want to polish the letters before I clear it then install it on my car. What should I use to polish the letters so they glow and so I dont hurt the paint around them?

I don't see any pictures of the VC

You're best to probably just use some sand paper and keep working to a smaller grit until you get it to the look that you want. Once you get it there put some clear over it to prevent it from oxidizing and give it more of a shine.

Makes a surface so the next coat of paint sticks real well. The steps:

The red is really blending in with the card board in those pics but you get the idea.
Those are the first 4 steps. Not professionally done, but it'll look decent enough for me. I'll get a pic of the painted step.
