I have heard the new viper filters only need a change once every like 6-12 months..

Is that right?

I always used the high-end Purolator in my ACR, and the Advance store brand in my beater (nice grip action). Larger Viper filters in both.

I think I used a Bosch filter on the ACR a couple times, coulda been my old '98.

you can use the "viper filter"

change the filter when you change your oil. you can look up any late model v-8 ram, dodge caravan with a v-6 as well as many other different cars that took the fat filter.

the benefit of using the larger filter is more filtering capacity and more oil capacity. i can dump almost 5 or a full 5 qts into my sohc.

for those that dont know, the advance auto house brand is a purolator premium plus with a little less filtering media.

Mobil One FTW
When I pass a Prius I downshift so they can hear me offsetting their "carbon footprint".

There was a huge post on th .org from this...use AC Delco if you can't get Mobil 1. That is all.

Mobil 1 for oil, though I use GTX.

I heard that too and Ed Peters really pushes them or he did but I think he said that their quality was slipping a little. I forget who he said makes a good filter now but his best advice is buy a oil filter cutter so you can open them up to inspect them. Check the quality of the filter media, how well it's spaced, the type of bypass valve, thickness of the case, ect. I think another one he recommended was actually Super-Tech which is the walmart brand filter.

I personally use K&N on my cars since I took possession of them and that is another one he recommended as being one of the better ones.

Oil though, I run Mobile1 Full-Synthetic

Is it true that once you use a full synthetic oil you can not use regular oil? I was told that it'll cause the seals to harden and then they will leak. I haven't wanted to try it myself to find out and I've heard yes and no answers. Has anyone here done it that would know?
