My CAI build - opinions ?

Post by uta_flyinghigh » Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:33 am

So I got fed up with my WAI however I didn't want to go with an Iceman/3.0 as it sits too low for my taste and I din't want to relocate the battery tray (I live in Africa hence have flash thunderstorms/flooding).

I also have the dual fans (luckily for me given the temperatures).

Therefore sourced a 55 mm duct and got creative with the original tubing and (again) heat wrap. Thoughts ?

you really need to move it in front of the battery. Its really not getting anything close to fresh air in its current location.

Trim the tray , get a 3.0 tube , call it a day.

meh. 3.0 can be put up higher than most people put it. It's a better option imo, or find an Iceman that has been cut for atx.

The heat wrap is pointless too. I really truely doubt it has any effect at all on the intake temps. The tube will still be hot and the air it is sucking is hot, so it does nothing.

go 3.0 and you dont have to go that low, I seen people run the filter right under the battery tray and others almost scraping the road

Weak, there is a vid of a civic on there somewhere where the intake wraps around the car and goes into the passenger side window. The filter is head high near the widow.
