Ultimate 1g Road Rally/Trip/DD Car

Post by Mazda787b » Wed Feb 14, 2007 12:43 am

Let's create the Ultimate all-purpose Neon! Here's what I would think:

1999 R/T Coupe.
Manual Locks, Mirror and Windows. (Is this even possible?)
Iceman
60mm TB
Box Manifold
Dynomax 2.5" Exhaust
Cam Gears
UDP
SRT Seats & Steering Wheel
PT Alt.
Depos w/~6000k HID
OZ Supertourismos or 'Pizza' wheels
Hella Superrallye Driving lights in spot of stock Fogs or on a light bar replacing front grille.
Hurst SRT Shifter
K-Sport Inverted Rally Coilovers
Full Poly Bushings
Auto-Dimming Rear View Mittor w/map lights, compass & temp.

Anything else? If you haven't guessed, this is what I want my Neon to be like next year with a few minor tweaks...

Why not an ACR? And why no header?

I would feel somewhat bad hacking up an ACR and using it like that.

Ok, I guess you could say ACR.

Thanks for reminding me about the header. With so many designs out, what would you reccomend? I like the MPx Stainles one, but there are so many out there. What is the difference between the merge collector and the standard one? I was led to believe there was primarily one type of collector design across the board.

I guess I could also add upgraded motor mounts, boogers, and semi-solid bobble.

Just making somewhat of a mental list here, and getting other's opinions. I drive ALOT of highway miles. Through the country, the Interstate, and many State Routes (hence the lighting upgrades).

May as well just find some generic ram air intake for a honda or mitsu and use that. It would be a whole hell of a lot cheaper.

It was just a list of what I was thinking sometime back when I started.

Actually, I have a 3.0 tube waiting for a filter.

Considering what you want to do with it, I wouldn't restrict myself to only R/T coupes. There are a lot of Sport, Expresso, and Highlines out there that would be a good base for that build.

^^^ Agreed. The R/T is a good choice though since they are all MTX and have rear disks and a few things.

If you wanted the rear disks you could even get a sport coupe...but with that much work already going into the car; the conversion wouldn't be that big of a deal.

My 99 R/T Coupe has Manual locks, mirrors and windows, so it's definetly possible.

Yeah it took me almost a year to find even a sedan in good shape for a decent price to get. I lucked out and found one with Manual everything and MTX...

I saw an NYG once in Salt Lake City, I couldn't believe it. It's the only one I've ever seen in Utah, and I've seen others all over the midwest...and of course the washington crew has quite the collection.

My SRT took my 6 months to find, and it was down in Arizona.
