I own a 98 dohc neon, i'm one of the moderators of clubneonquebec in Canada and also their IT specialist.
Here's a little of how my car was like
When i bought in january 2010 :

So this is my second neon, the 1st one being totaled (thanks to a good citizen not look where he was going !)
What was done last summer on the car :
- PCM Mopar
- Iceman intake
- Eibach drop
- strut bars
- Set of 2nd gen wheels, powder coated black
- Solid motor mounts
- Replaced original cluster with an RPM one
that was pretty much it for the season.
Summer 2011 is something open to discuss for now... i might actually continue on this project (got some parts coming in) to make the body and interior cleaner. While on the other side i'll be focussing on building an amzing srt-4 (nothing esthetique, pure engine) that i'm getting sponsored by my company. The idea is that once the car the srt's engine is to my taste and the 1st gen's body is fully complete, i'll swap it in the 1st gen
making it one of (if not THE) fastest 1st gen in Quebec province and still keeping th "sleeper" look of it Warming up my tire at Autodrome st-eustache :
