I got 17's on my car just watch the tire size, I had 215/40r17 on mine before and when I replaced the tires I put 205/40r17 on. I noticed no difference in the ride but if you have to replace the tires there is a big price difference they are quite a bit cheaper. As far as the breaks I'm not sure if there is a size difference between the two, my car came with stock disc on all four wheels so I never had any issues. I can't imagine there being a big difference in size someone else on here may know.

You should go to a web site that has the wheel selection by the car type, I got mine at discount tire but you can Google tire and wheel packages and it will pull up loads of web sites. You shouldn't have to make any adjustment if your putting 17's on they won't be any wider than 7-7 1/2" wide so you won't have any rubbing issues just watch the tire height.
