I weighed a 95-96 sport rim last year but honestly can't remember if it weighed 12.6 or 13.6 lbs without a tire. But I am almost positive it is lighter than a steelie.

Not sure how much VW steelies weigh, but I'm sure they weigh more than the 1gn 14" steelies.

So my 1st gen with sport alloys are the best pick out the wheels I already own. Good deal since they havent came off the car yet lol

I know it doesn't really make too much of a difference, but I was curious. Thanks Jerry, ur always a good help sir.

heres some random info, 2 of my Pirelli 235/45/R17s on the 2nd gen weigh around 60 lbs, 30 each obviously. One Bridgestone Potenza 195/60/R14 on my first gen weighs 20lbs.

I know this is an old post... But how'd you fit that size on a 1gn? You must have had coilovers, but even then, those actually fit without spacers?

Wow, that's light. I know I can pick up my R/T wheels with tires very easily, and I lug them around all over the place. No wonder, they only weigh in probably about 22 lbs with the tires.

Ah, I see. I thought you meant one set of wheels that you have are the heaviest AND lightest. I gotcha.
