Got a lot of little things to do with your car?

Post by APN » Sun Apr 20, 2008 1:58 am

Man, I've really been thinking about this a lot this week and realized that I have so much little shit to do with my neon it's not even funny. Only a few big things to deal with.

Here's a list off the top of my head:

big:
re-primer and paint
new rims

little:
new trunk lid
find a red bulb for my 3rd clear brake light
need to put carpet in my car
new seats
repaint interior flat black
rewire my interior and figure out why my car fries tach clusters
install my woofer in the trunk rather than the back seat
install TTI Race UDP
install new exhaust donut gasket
install solid booger bobble
polish trans
repaint block
powdercoat valvecover
new drivers side visor
new door panels
new center console
fix my side window defrost vents (broken tabs)
install LED dome light
remove sound deadener

It kinda pisses me off that I have all this little shit to do that I never feel like getting around to or have the money for (like the carpet), but I guess I'll have to find some time and get crackin.

Anybody else have it like this?

EDIT:

re-wire kill switch
install interior red accent lighting
oil change
pass side axle
possibly need an alignment
New CPS seal (Can you replace just the seal?)
3.0L CAI or custom dual-tb box style intake manifold.
mid length header
new battery cables/relocate battery to trunk (I'd love the extra room)
re-mount my spare tire at work
new muffler or catback
new speakers all around

lol looks like fun. Main things I'm worried about is installing the parts I've already paid for and a bit of cosmetic work like carpet and lighting.

I'm not doing too bad...

- Figure out why my backup lights don't work (bad wire or corroded socket)
- Replace drivers side wheel bearing
- Inspect and replace rear brakes (I don't even know if they work at all)
- DA and rattle-can my roof (peeling paint)
- Clean and install extra set of headlights/gaskets
- See if I can use plastic weld to fix the tab on the column that cancels the left turn signal
- Install my extra package shelf carpet (mine is slightly mangled)
- Install cam pos. sensor seal
- Install Konis/Eibachs/22mm sways (maybe)
- Install MadDog shifter/boogers (maybe)
- Fill extra motor mounts with eurethane and install (maybe)

I had actually planned on replacing my trusty blue '95 with a nice Platinum or IB '98-99 this spring, but this car is so reliable despite its flaws I hate to do it. For now that $2k is just gonna sit in the bank in case it randomly dies and I need to pick up something quick

for the 98, this weekend i.......

-installed a tach
-put on KYB's and stock springs (broke a lug stud, see below)
-got the daytime running lights working again
-replaced 1 broken and 3 stripped/chewed up lug studs on rear hubs
-tinted the back window
-swapped the stock exhaust from my 96, cat back
-swapped gas filler tube to get rid of EVAP code.
-cleaned the car from top to bottom, including vacuuming and shampooing carpet, cleaning the engine bay, wash and wax.

sitting here now looking at the list, it doesn't seem nearly long enough for how tired i am.

the NYG needs quite a bit TLC this summer, including a head gasket. must just do the 2.4 instead, finances willing.
