How much was your neon?

Post by Ghost Neon » Sat Feb 16, 2008 3:13 pm

My last two neon cost a fraction of the first. Take a look:

First neon back in 2k was a 98 highline with 19k for $8500 (got repoed)

About 1.5yrs ago I bought a 96 sedan SOHC with 155k for $250 needed a clutch)

About 6 months ago I bought a 96 SOHC coupe 154K $150 (needed a engine and tires)

All received DOHC swaps :la:

Will start another thread for what has gone into them, but how much have you spent to get into your neon?

When I was 15 I got my neon for 1,200. That was in 2003 and I bought it from my uncle. Rebuilt sohc mtx base model. Good paint and in pretty much perfect condition.

17 and it was $2700.They dropped it from 2800 cause the A/C didn't blow. This was probably my first repair, all I did was unscrewed the blower motor with it on, and it started working, must've just been jammed. Its a 99.Like 72,000 miles at the time.Had a atx rebuild that cost $1,100 so thats probably why.Sad part is the atx tranny was still messed up, then I swap it anyway lol.

- Right now im pushing just a lil over 300 HP, thinking about upgrading turbo charger and putting a 6spd tranny in - LMFAO

My current Neon cost $1100 in 2005, basically stock '95 highline SOHC MTX sedan with a bad repaint, at the time it had 119k miles. 3 years and 45k miles later I'd say i got a good deal, it's treated me well.

I paid $3300 for a '97 ACR with 59k miles and some bolt-ons in 2003.

And my first Neon was a clean '98 highline with 60k miles I paid $5400 for in 2001.

I'm about to start hunting for a new daily driver, hopefully I can get a pretty nice '98-99 MTX for my ~$1700 budget.

My 2005 neon cost me $14,500 after tax and tags, got it with 7 miles on it March 29, 2005. It was a good deal. My 2nd neon was a 95 NYG, that I traded my 86 S-10 straight up for. I got hosed on that deal. My 3rd neon is my 98, I bought for $1500, with 87,000 miles on it. Dead stock except for a 3.0 intake tube. It's the best car I've ever bought.
