I worked at two Jiffy Lubes for 4.5 years. Then I went to a 4 year school. I had a co-op working for Black & Decker (in the DeWalt portion) one summer/fall and then this past summer they invited me back as an intern.

Never mind the paper routes, mowing, and snow shoveling jobs when I was a kid. Even though I've worked for many companies, I've had primarily driving jobs for 25 years.

I started working for farmers when I was 14, driving hopper trucks and tractors from the fields to the farm or the co-op. This led to working for the local airport fueling planes, mowing, and doing maintainence on small equipment there.

At 16 I started working for a local ag center collecting soil tests and making deliveries. In the winter time, we plowed snow in pickups and with endloaders. I also worked at McDonald's for about 6 months.

At 19, I worked at a small foundry for a few months.

I worked 2 years for Domino's Pizza commissary, loading trucks that delivered to stores. At the same time, I worked p/t at a Shell station.

Worked 10 months for Northern F/S in Hampshire, IL as a field operator (got paid to drive monster trucks and go 4 wheeling).

Worked for Handy Andy Commercial Sales as a delivery driver for 2 years.

At 24 I started working for Hartwig Transit, a US Post Office contractor. I drove there for 6 1/2 years.

I moved to Texas in '99 and hauled mail for a different postal contractor for 6 months before starting with JB Hunt on their Budweiser fleet. I stayed there for 6 years.

I now work for CVS Pharmacy Distribution. I've been here for 1 1/2 years.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get out of drivivng in the next year or so. 1.7 million documented miles has made me old, sore, and cynical.

Yeah man, I was getting paid pretty well for being 16, $12 an hour. The commute sucked. Took about 1.5-2 hours to get there by Marc train/metro. Ride home was about the same amount of time. This was a year after the 9/11 attacks. I was actually working the day they re-laid the last brick to the outer wall; however, I wasn't there for the ceremony. I worked solidly for all of August, and then whenever I didn't have school I went to work, up until about April of 2003.
