the smog check went nicely, had to drive the car 130 miles or so to make puter happy.

and the bump stripes are off.

and thanks for the hookup nerdy, might come in handy.

and the motor mods are currently:
1. ported and polished head.
2. 95 camshaft
3. fidanza cam gear
4. ATX TB (duh)
5. mopar PCM

mike, the first time i took the car out it went a 17.8 at 84MPH with ~30PSI of fuel pressure. so i dont think ill be giving up as much as you think

and i got the car lowered today but im worried the car sits TOO low in the front now

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

i'll probably end up cutting the original fronts, i have around half an inch of travel until i hit the fender. and even with the correct 205/40/17's (showed are worn out 205/50/17's)

the mystery blue ones.

Image

and i drove the car with my new mopar PCM

Image

HUGE difference. the car pulls nearly as hard as my 95 MTX now from 15 up  but i didnt get a chance to go over 35 MPH or around 4k in first so idk how much more is still waiting.

got some better pictures of the new ride height also. the springs are mega stiff so i dont think it will cause any problems.

Image

Image

should be going back to the drag strip sat night for some actual testing.

just bondo and primer

Image
Image

going to look at a turbo kit saturday though. :P

and why strawberry pearl? are you crazy?

i ran the mopar with the ATX by just plugging it in. you lose the torque converter lockup though, so you have to setup your own switch (it isnt hard)

that one gauge will also be used to display boost pressure but unfortunately the boost sensor will not be available until june so im pressing onward without it.

boor is right, the intercooler piping wouldnt fit. ohh the shame!

the mopar PCM plugs right in man... the torque converter just wont lock up (you can make your own switch, im not telling how since i never got to that point)

but anyway, spent some time driving the car tonight... its getting megasquirt ASAP, im building over 2 pounds of boost just accelerating from stop lights! which means its going lean because the pedal isnt mashed to the floor...

pics..

Image

Image

Image

the car still needs wetsanded and buffed, but you get the idea :D

theres more pictures here if anyone wants to see...

http://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t=291736

and i'll never give up the exact paint code, but i'll tell you its a house of kolor color and it starts with "MB" :P

and i got tired of the part throttle unhapiness so i ordered MS from RS-auto today :D

(im beginning to notice projects like this never end :( )

after MS is up and running i'll be building a SRT'd 2.4L to put in the car along with the 20G turbo. hoping to go faster

PARTAY!

Image

cole, let me know when you wanna head out to speedworld or firebird sometime. MS will be installed within 2 weeks.

firebird doesnt do racing saturday night. but its open till 12, so we could head out after the car show.

and saturdays dont work for me, i have to work the hell shift so i normally dont go free till 11PM

cost is 17 bucks to race at firebird. dont remember what it is at speedworld.

some images of the MS install.

Image
bolted down with washers on the bottom and self locking nuts ontop.
Image

Image

Image
(this isnt the final way the wiring went through. actually went under the HCAV controls and to the left)
Image
plug and play harness. (still needs taped)
Image

Image
lets take the front bumper off to get to a charge pipe for the IAT :(

Image

the nicest thing about the way i have it setup is that i can switch back to stock PCM controller in about 2 minutes.

the only problem im having now is that he laptop i bought refuses to connect to MS at all. the only way i got it to even start was dragging my desktop outside and plugging it in that way :(

its more of a hemi orange than the pink(ish) color in the photo, but will be painted silver because orange wouldn't look right under my hood. :)

some progress.

Image

Image
(its just sitting on there. im faking progress)

and i went to speedworld a week or two ago. the cars best time with the stock PCM, 1st gen alloys and 6.5 PSI is... are you ready for this...

15.5 at 92MPH
with a 2.35 60 foot. and i lost the timeslip dont i dont know the rest

and on another note, i got MS back in the mail and have been playing with it for alittle while. the car feels much stronger then it did before and now stalls at 2,700RPM instead of 2,000 like it did at the track with the stock PCM. so im taking that as a sign of greatly increased low end power :D
