Well they have a bit more duration and such so the powerband is up a little higher. Also doing the intake stuff will help it breathe much better since the 2.4L has 20% more CFM of airflow than the 2.0L at the same rpm, and is trying to get 20% more air through the same hole, it kills the top end since it can't get as much as it wants. Just doing that should let me rev a bit higher, but I'd still be governed by the cams after a certain point.

Damn I need to get this car going faster, since getting those plates I've actually gotten races, and with faster cars. It's fun, but the goal is to BEAT the faster expensive cars instead of almost hang with them lol.

Just ran the wires from the PCM to my glovebox for the TPS, CTS, IAT, CKP, and power to the MS, plus the 5 ground wires are scattered across the engine bay attached to the chassis at various points. All I need is the cable from laptop to MS, another VB921, and maybe a wideband and it'll be running under MSII control :)

14.930 @ 92.33 mph last night. It really needs the CV shaft, ball joint, and wheel bearings replaced really soon now cuz it sounds like it's falling apart lol.

Tyler wrote:sounds good chip. My biggest beef with what you want to do is this. Why do the head work and such and only put 2.0 cams in it? I know your trying to spend as little as possible but with some bigger cams, youd be happy you spent the extra cash.

Other than that looks and sounds good.
Lol right about now just having the other head on sounds like it would net me some gains. Only .449 seconds more to knock off and I'll be in the high 13's. Not bad for still not spending hardly any money on the car, only to fix broken stuff and not even upgrade much :)

Well this weekend I'm going up to my buddy's place and am gonna try to make a new intake manifold for the hell of it to see if it helps or not. Not real concerned with much, just for practice. Hopefully it knocks .1-.2 off, I'd be happy as hell with that for now. Also picking up 2 sets of my old rims (ACR bubbles and Sport rims) for $20 from the guy that got my NYG. I'm slowly getting that car back piece by piece for dirt cheap (already have the trans lol).

Trans is still working great, I took it apart last June and put it in the NYG, beat on it a bunch, got rid of the NYG in September and bought the trans this past January and put it in right away (damn 3.55). It's still holding through prolly 50+ drag passes in the 2 cars and lots of abuse on the streets :)

FINALLY have my spare head in my possession. Picked it up from buddy yesterday. He had .040" milled off and it has the 2.7/PT valvetrain already and 2.0 cams. I'm gonna toss the 2.0 cams in on Monday and also remove the balance shafts now that I know what size tap to use (1/4"-20 if anyone needs to know lol) to block off the oil hole. Hopefully that gives me a tad bit more power (I'd be happy with 5 more whp lol) and I'll find some more weight to remove (rear bumper support for sure, plus the 20 lb balance shafts) and hopefully I can get down to 14.2 for Import Wars on the 24th. I'd have hella better chances that way lol.

2.7L/PT valvetrain is installed, stock Neon cams are installed, balance shafts have been removed, although the chain was already busted and parts of it were in my oil pan, which may explain the nasty vibrations it used to have. Those are gone and it runs much better so far. :)

Well popped the headgasket real bad the other day and now it's out of commision, it still runs and shit (once you get it to fire) and all 4 cylinders fire eventually, but it ain't the same lol. Smokes real bad and you can tell it's burning coolant (water) real bad cuz a puddle forms under the muffler from all the steam condensating and it takes ~3 minutes for the water in the cooling system to get low enough to boil over and overheat the bitch lol. Picking up another engine tomorrow from u-pull :)

What do you mean by karma? I sent you your fuckin' money back, I don't know what happened to it. If you want, I can cancel the MO and not send you anything at all and you can suck a dick. How's that for karma?
