pathetic (long)
i neither won nor lost but i shat my pants. i have this on my cell fone video but idk how to get it up on here. BASICALLY this is how it goes: i got this frend who him and his dad hav a car dealership so he grea up all around cars, and his dad is all mopar hes had cuda challengers chargers, super bees the works, so this kid pretty much shits on evyerhting that isnt an 8 banger. He has this dakota that he dropped a 5.9 into and claims to have destroyed transams, mustangs, r/ts, camaros all this shit that drives me insance. Coming home from a car show (summit park mall cruise nights) im in my daily driver 95 neon soch atx that seriously goes 0-60 in about 5 minutes (lmao). We pulled from 40 and i threw it from d into 1 (terrible i know but its gettin a rebuild this winter givin it to my bro) and he took off before me and i caught up and we wur neck and neck till 100, i didnt win neither did he and if we took off at the same time i would of been ahead. im gona try to post my video online. the truck is just so slow and i cant stand his comments ne more about 4 cylinders ( i show respect to all makes and modeals and engines, i jus rpefer mopar), i need sumone that lives around me to jus show this fucking kid up (hes my best frend its sad) i need his heart ripped out of his chest. He said he didnt hav enuff gas to race my buddies v6 auto stang, that drove me insane. he went around telling evyerone he destroyed me and wen i confronted him all he said was that he wasnt trying. well idk if u guys can really say much about this scenario but gimme sumtin before i lose my cool......

Ok I am a Mopar person through and through (learned how to drive in a 73 Charger with a 400). I have a SOHC with a few bolt ons and my dad has a 95 Ram with a 5.9. I drive the Ram all the time and ya its got power but as you said trucks are heavy. As far as a 5.9 beating on a Neon, not sure about yours, I dont see it happening if the 5.9 is stock. My Neon will walk on dads Ram any day of the week. Its not all about power in racing, its about the power to weight ratio and gearing. You might have a third of the engine and half the hp, but you also have half of the weight. To re-iterate my point, power is not the only thing if the vehicle is a tank. You have to take into account that the extra power has to move that extra weight.

well i'll vouch for the dakota. I had my friend take my car to work at a chevy dealership. he raced 2 ppl there. a nissan maxima probably 99 or so, not new bigger ones. and he raced a 5.9 dakota. My car is atx, sohc, intake, exhaust, prothanes, and moderate weight redux. My friend lost to the maxima, which has intake, header, and full race exhaust and pcm and mtx. He says he stayed even with the dakota. I took my car up there one day to run them myselves, and i stuck to the maxima's front fender, he was ahead of me by his fender, and i blew the dakota off. both were raced from a stop.

yeah ur right, 10% extra power is about the same as 10% less weight.SuperGus wrote:Ok I am a Mopar person through and through (learned how to drive in a 73 Charger with a 400). With my almost stock Neon (140/150HP) and 3 peeps in car I smoked a V8 chevy truck automatic trans. It has 320 HP I believe, but it is waaay to heavy to accelerate fast from a stop.
