WOOT WOOT
Well, this day started out slow and inconsistent. Time trials were a 14.40 and 14.63, after the first one car was idling at 4k, surging like hell etc, and i smelled ALOT of clutch in both burnouts on the nittos.

I sat on it, as the track was getting oiled down nearly every run, we had ALOT of time to think about it, I decided why not. All thats going to happen is the car wont move, or we'll go rounds, I took option B until option a happened. It never came. We ended up dialing a 14.70 as the car was slowing down each of our first three runs, it seemed to settle on 14.70, definately off the mark, but dead consistent there, with 14.701, 14.731, 14.730, 17.999(bye run), 14.731.

The BFG's are definately an improvement out of the hole, but with the clutch weak, I dont wanna say their hurting my times, I think with some time to dial the chassis in we will be much faster on em overall. I also need to dial in the 2step for em, the increased grip is unreal hehe. I was launching and spinning on the nittos at 3700, now i'm at 5300 and it bogs a hair more than i'd like, but definately hooks and goes...the clutch just didn't wanna keep up, hence a night of 2.0 and 2.1 60' times. Every run, and i mean EVERY run, except the bye run, was a 93mph pass, actually, 93.86, 93.84, 93.88, 93.81. Call me nuts, but the consistency is sickening lol.

The really really ironic part, after the last run, at the slip booth, the idle was dead solid at 900 loping away like she always has. Clutch still didn't feel right heading back to the pits but the idle and throttle response was absolutely normal.

I have definately got to throw props out to Amsoil, TAG, S.I. J&V Tools and J&J Towing. their support and alot of running around made thsi weekend happen and this is definately one for them.

So the plan for tomorrow is run it till it either wont move or i get knocked out hehe.

As mentioned in my previous entry, we ended up winning the B2 Bracket class Saturday despite some adversity. This morning we tracked down the problem to a fuel problem, which was promptly solved and the car was mostly back to normal. The day was again filled with oil downs and breaks, Brent Rau actually caught fire, thanfully he was ok but that did end his day, never a good note to go out on, but the car can be repaired.

We were still running slower than I'd like, however we were again dead consistent, in the 14.65-14.70 range. Playing around with the launch setup did net some slower passes, however luck continued to be on my side as my opponent on a horrible bout of wheelspin out of the box redlit, handing me the win. We managed to get the car solidly planted, and are getting our 60' times closer to what we'd like to see, but there is still room to improve. The biggest problem today, and what ended up being the downfall of the bracket classes was the constant oiling, with gave us an average track cleanup of 45minutes to 1 hour, horribly slowing down progress. As a result, the pro cars ended up bumping us out a few rounds, and they shut us down with 6 cars left in the class due to the curfew restrictions, so we ended earlier than any of us would have liked, but overall I can not complain one bit about the weekend.

Want to thank Jimmy Jones, Chris Rado, Kenny Tran, Gary Kubo, Mike Long, and Steve Lockett, as well as Amsoil, TAG, S.I. J&V Tools and J&J Towing for their support and help at the track today, we definately would not have been as competitive as we were without you guys!

Glad you won man! Any idea why you might be running 14.6 isntead of 14.0's? Dead clutch? Too much tire?

I think a combination of getting a little too much octane due to a screwup on saturday which had the engine running like hell, and the switch up to the 225/50r15 drag radials.
I was having the big problem of a smoking clutch on saturday so the burnouts were pretty weak. sunday however, once i got the fuel down to the high 90's octane wise through creative mixing, I damn near stalled the car on a 5300rpm launch sooo yeah, going to try for a T&T next week to get the tires dialed in a bit, I still have em aired up to 25psi so yeah hehe, I have a feeling on a good burnout i could throw 6k+ at these without a problem if i aired em down, althogh I might air up to around 28 or so and up the launch to around 5500 or so and see how that does.

The taller tire is definately hurting the top end performance of the car, but the pull out of the box on the 2 good launches I got was just ungodly, if it hadn't bogged down to around 3k or so would have probably been 1.8 60' s or so.
