I have 65-175-14s or 40-205-17s Which would be better?

Should have better times with the 14's. If you could get a 14" or 15" rim that can handle a wider tire, like 205 width, then you'd be laughin'. I ran on 17's and basically got laughed at for missing out on better speed/times.

Your 17's will probably have alot of wheel hop and the 14's will nearly eliminate that but the 17's have wider tires on them which equals more traction but more wheel hop which equals less traction so if it were me I would go with the 14's.

Damn only 175's on the 14's? What rims are those? I run 205's on my R/T rims and get hella good launches.

They came with the car, Falken Ziex's. I only got two left, the left two blew out when I hit a huge pothole one day, so I got some el cheapo Goodyear's put on cuz I didn't get much of a choice. The Ziex's are on front, one is backwards (directional tires) cuz I didn't wanna pay $30 for them to flip it over. That's how I ran last time, don't know what my tire pressure was, haven't bothered to check it all year. Just roll in off the street and run 14's all day long. :)

Stock stealies 14" wrapped in BF dragradials 205-50-r14

Test and tunes,
13" alum keizers 26"x8"r13 slicks.....

I got the BF's on tirerack. they werent too exspensive, theyr good street legal slicks for when you have to be street legal at the track.

I dunno, they came with the car. So to me they were free. I wanted some 205's when mine blew out but Goodyear didn't have shit for 14" tires.

My best times came using 195/60-14 cheap worn down Hercules brand tires. They where also on my 14" ASA aluninum wheels. Thety weigh about 12lbs. Ran 15.7-15.8 all day long on a pretty much stock SOHC. With better tires maybe I coulda hit 15.4-15.5.

205/50/14 BFG Drag Radials are a 22" tire. They fit perfectly on a 6" rim, (R/T) mag). I just picked up a set (2) at Costco, $271 , mounted, balanced and tax, out the door (no nitrogen).

22" M & H slicks need an 8" rim, you can get them at Diamond Racing in MI for about $90 each before shipping.
The slicks are around $150 IIRC. You need tubes for the slicks also, about $35 each IIRC. All told close to $600 for slicks and rims.
