capacitors, take a little bit of a load of your alternator but your better off putting a beefy alternator in

not true.. caps hold a charge and dont discharge until the power is shut off.. so the only real purpose of a cap is to prolong the amps power once the car is shut off.. or if your car cuts out it will supply the power needed to prevent your amp from recieveing low voltage (which is never good but shouldnt happen in the first place..) and with that being said you prolly wont have a big enough cap to even do that.. most people get 1 or 2 farads which is puny.. i wouldnt even worry about a cap!
