Weaksauce. It's only metal, not like you're drilling for oil in the gulf.chris97dohc wrote:after looking at it again, i still dont think its that simple. with a 1st gen wing no doubt, it would be easy as pie. done it before. but with the sxt wing there just seems to be too much stuff in the way to just be able to drill through it all.

it really is just that simple... but go out and buy some nice drill bits and a deburring tool before you start, if you happen to hit one of those supports just keep stepping the hole until the nut and a socket will fit through the supports.chris97dohc wrote:after looking at it again, i still dont think its that simple. with a 1st gen wing no doubt, it would be easy as pie. done it before. but with the sxt wing there just seems to be too much stuff in the way to just be able to drill through it all.

wasnt that bp's problem? hahahaha..... shouldnt be that hard to just drill some holes right and stick some hardware down to get it bolted up. your overcomplicating what should be a simple job. thats just my .02metal_gear_jon wrote:Weaksauce. It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

Hope it turns out "well" for you.chris97dohc wrote:well ill try it out today. hope i dont spring a leak and spluge oil everywhere lol
Anyway, I have just the opposite. Five holes in my decklid that are rusting pretty bad b/c the hack installers that put the wing on back in the day, skipped out on the painting the fresh metal part. Now I'll take a grinder to the rust and whatever is left will be welded up. Not to mention that whole thing will need to be painted. The holes in the bracing will be left though.
