Post by 98neon_r/t » Fri Apr 10, 2009 11:25 am

yea...these lights fuckin suck. my high beams are lower than my gf's low beams. i really haven't looked at them much but can those bulbs be replaced? maybe if i try a bulb with a higher kelvin rating it may be a little better... either way i WILL get some depos

Depos still break (the plastic casings) and the old TYC clears had issues with the reflector cups breaking off.

Headlight options for 1 gen neons suck.

I just got a set of stock replacement off of ebay. They seem to work great and were only 60 bucks for the pair.

I like mine

I bought a set of projectors on ebay and I really like them as far as light output. But the assembly on the passenger side did not fit well and needed a hole slotted a little. Only had them a few months but so far so good.

Did those come with the gaskets or did you put the originals on? I don't have the gaskets on mine...

i just rubbed some lotion into my gaskets and they look brand new and seal good. those are the one i got. two sets up the super bright i got at napa made them the best hl's ive ever owned. and they actually make the neon look more agressive. with the grill delete and these hl my neon no longer screams HI! but about fitment, the blinkers are about a 1/4 inch further away from the hl and the grill doesnt fit "nicely" but the actual fitment of mine were great. oh and lastly, with the clear blinkers i got with mine, i have blinkers from hell. my blinkers light the road up with a bright gold line that goes as far as the projectors they are crazy bright

I have a set of these aswell, they worked great fr about a year. After that one by one the halo LED's keep shorting out. So I have to take it apart and rewire atleast one of the 4 once a month. now ive done it so much the one on the passenger highbeam the LED wont turn on at all. For 70bucks a year worth of cool looking lighting? I'd say still worth it.

That and it could just be my luck I got a shitty set.

The only time I have turned mine on is to show people they are there.

Mothers Back to Black works awesome to restore the look of the headlight gaskets.
