Camber Adjustment Help

Post by hotrod » Mon May 10, 2010 4:07 pm

I need a questioned answered about Camber Adjustment.
My car is stock ride height, I have two front KYB GR2 Slotted Struts,
my question do I need to buy a Camber Kit since the Struts are already slotted? and will it even benifitt my cars camber adjustment? Reason I ask Is because, two sets of my front tires went bald In less than a month, after lifting my car back to oem ride height, from lowered height with oem springs.
I dont want to pay a shop 65$ If I can do It myself, If you know what I mean.

answered your pm, but i have a few more questions. where is the tire worn. and have you ever had the toe checked. that angle is more likely to wear a tire than camber unless it is really severe.

um.. I never ever had my toe or camber checked since I purchased the car back in 99.The only part that has major wear was the tread on the outside of the tire nearest to the rim/lip..
but on my 17" rims the whole tire freakin turned slicks on me with the outter part of the tire showing more wear than the inside...
the metal was showing near the lip on both 17" an 14" tires on the front suspension but the rear is fine i had no problems with it even at the lowered stance...

outer wear could be too much positive camber but it is unlikely esp with drop springs, unless something has been bent. The car being toed out would wear the outer edge as well. i would check the inner and outer tie rods. then have it aligned if everything is ok. or replace the bad parts and align it.
