What springs to use with KYB GR2?

Post by Red97 » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:33 am

I just ordered a full set of KYB GR2 for my 97 Neon, I was wondering what would be a good set of springs for them. I don't want to lower the car much (if at all, my roads suck!) so any ideas would be appreciated. I want a stiffer ride than stock, but I don't want it to be too harsh either.
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average!!

I just put on a set of Skunk2 springs with my GR-2's and it's a really good set up. Not the mot expensive set you can buy but well worth the cost. The ride is really nice and the height only lowered about 1.5 inch.

It's not a great deal lower, but also I wanted to NOT have to get a camber adjustment kit. These worked out really well. It sits about 2 inches off the top of the tires in the front and about 2.5 in the rear.

Here's the model number if your interested

I had Sprint springs on my GR2s back in the day, and I have no complains except the front didn't lower much.

For comparison, car on left has Eibach Pro Kit springs and 185/60R14 tires, car on right has Sprint springs and 175/65R14s.

Hopefully this is useful to you.

if u wanna keep the ride stiff and keep it higher.... obvious and extremely cheap answer would be SRT4 stock springs... i saw a set for 20 bucks on craigslist in my area....

any 2gn springs would be way too much for a 1gn neon.
