How are your shifter bushings?

Make sure your car is not rolling forward OR Backward while putting it into reverse.

My reverse will grind under 2 circumstances:
1. Rolling while putting it in reverse.
2. Or not fully engaging reverse.

shifter bushings are fine i put sealed bearings in them not long along so it shifted smoother and i still have the e brake on cause thats what i thought that i was rolling when i was putting it in reverse i just dont know what to do never ran into that problem except once and had a clutch put in and it was fine so thats why i assumed clutch

Might be time to replace your clutch.
Mines got 135k miles on it, I have the same clucth in my car that came in the car in 1997 but I plan on using a PT clutch when I replace it.

whats the big difference in the clutches besides a slight price and what do you order them for cause thats what i was thinking of doing is ordering a pt clutch mines only a sohc does that make a difference?

I think the PT cruise clutch will handle a little more power.

New clutch cable? Unless you can adjust it... It should be self adjusting though...
