so what ratios are in this trans?

Questions about axles, transmissions, differentials, pretty much anything that connects the engine to the wheels, this is the place for those questions.

so what ratios are in this trans?

I'm looking at a black 95 four door neon dohc mtx for a friend who is buying it. The owner says he had the trans replaced because of the diff pin breaking. So I look to see what trans is in there now and the tag shows 4668310AD I get home and check it out on the .org and the number is not listed so I've been searching without any luck. the bellhousing has obviously been replaced (it looks like brand new) on this trans and I'm wondering if it was the original trans or that a shop fixed or if it came from an eclipse or cavalier? At least I think I remember reading somewhere the nvt-350 was in a cavalier. On a side note the car felt really doggy at low speeds and stayed in gear forever, compared to the 99 dohc tans in my car.

Its probably a 3.55 trans if the gears felt longer than your dohc car. I cant find anything on that part number.

The cavalier trans and our trans are not the same. It's probably a 3.55 if it was swapped, since they are easy to get a hold of. If it's around 2500 RPM's at 65, then it's a 3.55 trans, vs 3000 RPM's at 65 with a 3.94.

A cavalier trans is a Getrag unit VS our New Venture Gear. Even though NVG was a joint venture between GM and Chrysler, it was used in very few if any GM vehicles that I know of.

:spam2: gotta love a rerun... it still could be a 3.94, but doubtful. a 3.55 trans is way more common.
