I don't understand what you guys are doing to these transaxles. I think you seriously need to re-evaluate your driving habits.

I hate to be a moralist but I have to agree with the last poster.

I raced mine txice last year and do the occasional street race (admittedly, I granny-shift otherwise).

Tranny still going strong at 93k miles even in extreme African conditions.

I beat the living shit out of my bolt-on '98 highline for 3 years, and my ACR for 2 years, powershifting at redline constantly and never had a tranny issue.

well grandit i never grinded gears. The first time I didn't put the plug on in time,I lost it then when I went to the store like the next day damage was done.Probably wouldv'e been ok but I drive fast, plus the 3rd and 5t were already shot.Second one the dif blew,Idk how plenty of fluid and didn't realli do any launches or whatnot I geuss it was just bad.The third one I got from my friend, who had it in the back seat of his neon he bought and we checked it and it looked ok but turns out the bearing plate cover screws where stripped and the fluid leaked outta there.First time was my fault but I geuss I just have bad luck with trannys.I have new seals,I'm checking all the screws and checking fluid levels weekly with the next one to make sure it doesn't break again.

At 250,000 miles my sohc's tranny just started having second gear synchro issues. The only time I had to replace one was when I bent a shift fork in my old 95 sedan.

My '95 transmission with 105k sometimes had issues with 3rd and 4th not wanting to go in gear but it's not too bad and otherwise it's in good shape. I granny shift most of the time, sometimes I will bring it up through the gears to redline but I can't shift it super fast or else it grinds.

my 96 has just under 200k and other than being a little hard going into reverse i've had no trans problems, and I'm not exactly the gentle type either

I don't know how much it'd cost to get a tranny rebuilt. Plus, if you're a neon owner, you don't want to pay a lot of money for a trans.

135K miles and still on stock clutch! My tranny has held up great to some abuse Ive put it through. You guys need to take care of what you have or figure out what your doing wrong during install.

it aint cheap its like 400 bux around there, but guess what, after you buy 5 trannys over a years period u just spent 300 bux o wait then theres labor, even if you do it yourself omg thats like 25 hours labor over the entire year! so lets pretend u make minium wage thats like 145 dollars! =O so youre close to 500 bux!

or you can give you tranny to aamco or continental, have synchros cleaned or replaced or whatever and have the tranny properly luubed and assembled and ready for installation with new seals!

stop buying parts that have been sitting in snow for 6 months

JESUS CHRIST CHIPPPP DOGGG u shud be all over these guys wtf
