Tuning my Safc, where?

Post by Tyler » Tue Feb 13, 2007 5:11 pm

Im getting my Safc installed and I need to know where in Ohio, close to me I can go and get it tuned? I dont know any shops around here, so Id apreciate if someone could steer me somewhere. How much does dyno time usually cost?

I know of a few places in Cincy that have chassis dynos, might be a bit of a trek for ya though.

www.tprcincy.com
www.racelinetuning.com
www.zerolift.com

I'd expect to pay between $60-$100 per hour

You can street tune it but you'll need a wideband (not one of those goofy air/fuel gauges that you get a autozone)

I dont wanna pay for one tho. I have too many others things Ive already spent my cash on. I was told most shops will hook it up to a wideband to tune. And it shouldnt take more than an hour would it?

^ not neccesarily. time of tuning really depends on how familiar the shop/person is with tuning your particular setup. the only places i can think of in columbus that might be able to help ya would be auto exotica (formerly passen motorsports), and auto assets. the former i will never deal with because i never was treated well as a customer when they were called passn, and the latter mainly tunes audi/vw/porsche and will probably be pretty pricey.

I may just find a used wideband then, cuz I dont know where to go. Has anyone had any experience with Slomotion Motorsports? They have a website and forum. Ive heard good things but from a Jetta guy.

slowmotion! yes, that's the name of the shop i couldn't remember last night...

i've seen a few cars they've worked on, and i know at least one turbo neon that they've done work on and i've seen an SRT with some of their logos on it. i met one of their techs i believe at a car meet one night, pretty kewl, very knowledgable guy. i'd say call em up and give em a try! 8)
