best ignition for 95 sohc

hey guys just thinkin about an ignition upgrade on my car and was wondering what would give me the best bang on a budget. as far as coil , wires and plugs go what would be a good setup for my car (which is stock except for intake and exhaust

Factory champion plugs, if you're staying without an ignition box then use graneteli solid core wires, and a graneteli coil. If you want to be fancy get an MSD coil. For price though, just get the graneteli coil pack, the graneteli wires, and champion plugs from your local auto parts store. You should spend about 120 at the very most.

i've had best luck with ngk plugs. i ran a msd red coil, but right now its the stock one from a stratus i think and works just as well.

Unless your ignition is faulty, there is no point in replacing parts. MSD, granetilli and all the other "name" brand wires and coil packs are NOT I repeat NOT upgrades. They are just factory replacements.

I mean your car is stock except for exhaust which = no muffler. You will not benefit from any coil or wires. Save your money and buy and actual performance part.

"well Granatelli has the lowest OMS, modern said they got 1-3 OMS." This means NOTHING on a stock to lightly modified car. Its just a sales pitch to get you to buy something. While it can be beneficial, your stock car is not demanding any more spark than needed. So it would be a wasted upgrade

I would have to agree with wickedgoodneon.
In lamens terms...
when i put my MSD on my car (mainly to finish off the look under the hood) all I noticed was a slightly better idel and if you are looking for performance def. start with something else.

Pretty much. But if they're going out, the "performance" parts are cheaper.

I'd rather use a junkyard OEM coil than an MSD coil. No need for expensive wires either, I just go with the stock replacements at O'Reilly's for $30.
