N/A 2.4 build

Post by 97 Expresso » Mon Sep 14, 2009 10:41 am

I was going to do a turbo build with this 2.4 but i am more leaning on just a good daily driver N/A build. What would be some good cams, header, and internals??? I have the complete montor from a 2000 stratus.

Start out with stock internals, Crane 18's, and a long tube header. If you really want to spend money on the bottom end, go with 10.5:1 pistons on SRT rods with ARP rod bolts.

You will need stiffer valve springs. Stock retainers will work fine. You will want an SAFC to tune it. You should also run a Mopar performance or AFX ecu for better performance.

The SAFC Neo has more adjustment setting than the SAFC or SAFC II. Head work is recommended with #18 cams.

The head should be fine with 18's, but you'll need Crane valve springs, preferably Crower ones with anything over 18's. I'm running Crower 4G63 springs with my 16's because the guy that I bought the setup from had broken two Cranes with them.

Gasket matching the head and slightly opening up the intake manifold ports couldn't hurt though, and would really help, especially with the bigger engine and hotter cams.
