Post by edub20 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 9:05 pm

i'm unsure of what cams is best to run with my setup, i have 97 dohc highline with iceman intake, 60mm tb, indy intake mani, unorthodox udp, mopar pcm, kirk longtube header, no a/c, no p/s, no cat, and 2.5 dynomax exhaust. i was goin with the crane nitris grind cam(#12) but would the turbo grind be better(#14). i'm still tring to go n/a tho.

i think 16's with stock bottom end would be a good combination, maybe raise compression by removing middle layer of headgasket.

Crane 18's ... Yes they like higher compression and a ported head.. But they will still make more power then the 16's on a stock head...

Plus im sure you will want more later so why buy 16's now just to replace them later...

yep 18s if you want to deck your head, and 16s if you want to be on the really safe side

I run 16's on a stock bottom end with PnPed head.

all bigger cams require upgraded Valve springs and retainers

If you run them without it you have a very good risk of damaging your internals.

^^^
I wouldnt risk it. Reving high and driving spirited may tear up those springs. Not worth the risk of destroying the motor.
