fuel return...

Post by 1fast2liter » Fri Jul 13, 2007 1:50 am

well i thought i would post here. i am running a stock dohc(will be) fuel rail for now with a ebay fuel regulator. my question is i am using a spool boy modded canister i am gonna use the stock fuel line to the rail with a -4 from the shrader valve to the regulator then i want to use low pressure fuel hose back to the tank. will that be safe as it shouldn't see and high pressure as it will be on the return side?? this would only be temporary till i mod it with the -an fittings and go full -6 to and from the tank. and a high flow rail at the same time. for now i wanna run 19 psi on the turbo with stage 1 injectors. then up grade to larger fuel lines and such and upgrade the turbo later too.

Just find a stock fuel line in the junkyard and use that a a return line. Never use low pressure line on something that you wouldnt want to catch fire, no matter how temperary it may be

You can use lower pressure fuel hose on the return. Just be sure its rated for fuel use. Most of the low pressure hose is rated to 40psi. I had it setup that way at first, then I switched to -6 AN push-lok hose on the return. You may want to consider the push-lok hose, as it is much cheaper than regular braided hose. Its also good to 250psi.

There is nothing to risk. There is really no pressure in the return line. If there is you have problems.
