What should I do?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons? just anything that is generally "engine" specific.

What should I do?

Post by zx14bird » Mon Oct 01, 2012 3:34 am

I'm looking to do some drag racing with my 97rt and was looking for some advice. I'm wanting to keep the stock 2.0 dohc motor in the car, and looking to run around 11 flat or high 10's. Should I build the motor an run NA or Turbo the car. Which would be better to get to my goal for the least amount of money.

well being as your ging to have to go way more extensive in getting there na i would say probably turbo. over on neons.org theres a list of the fastest cars and there is only 1 or 2 naturally asperated cars running 10's and neither one has a 2.0 motor in it. they both have been upgraded to a 2.4L engine out of a stratus or pt cruiser. so that being said you may never get that fast without a turbo. good luck to you though on your efforts.

very HIGHLY unlikely will you get down to even 12s without some extensive work. swap to a 2.4 and run that way if you are wanting to get there "cheaply", it really will be easier.
It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!
