If everything seems to be in control, you're not going fast enough.
Main reason you aren't just dropping in a 2.4 is???
For same price and less work, you can have a quicker car that's 10x more fun to drive. Bolt-on 2.4's will do same as a semi-built SOHC, and then plenty of potential after that. Mine pulls from 3000-8000. No need to downshift ever.

Yeah I know guys but the only reaso n I havent done the2.4 is that I have a95 sohc and I swear im havin g the hardest time finding a dohc harness for my 95 to be honest thats the main reason, maybe not the best but im.honest unless u know were I can get a desent one some were thanks.

You don't need a DOHC harness. My magenta was a SOHC, still has SOHC harness in it.
Only differences are:
Coolant sensor plug is in a different spot, you'll have to extend the wires about 14-16" or so. Only 3 wires, not too hard.
TPS and IAC may have different plugs. Can't use the SOHC sensors because they point "up" and will hit the #4 intake runner.
That's all that is different.

A ride in a 2.4 car would have changed your mind faster.

A ride in a cammed one is even funner. I thought the 18's were fun till I got the s4's semi-tuned. Holy balls.1genRTturbo wrote:and the man should know. its why i chose mine.chipdogg wrote:A ride in a 2.4 car would have changed your mind faster.
Of course I went from crane 18's, stock clutch, diff, and intake manifold to stage 4's, box intake, 60mm throttle body, and quaiffe in a weekend. Knocked almost a full second off my 1/4 mile time with the slicks.
