This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons? just anything that is generally "engine" specific.

changed CP sensor and all went well, new MLS gasket in, but temp guage pegs full hot on start up.

other than that it all went like butter.

did you fill with coolant? if so - did you get the air out of the system?

Does it do immediately on start up? Or after it runs for a minute. Sounds like a bad coolant temp sensor if it does it as soon as it starts.

bad sensor, changing it tomorrow, leaving it unplugged throws a code on the CEL, plugging it in makes that annoying warning ding when the coolant gets too hot.

car runs like a top, head and cam are all that is really different, everything else (with the exception of the coolant temp sensor) is from my 98. get a slight rough idle, but VERY responsive. unlike before where it was a complete dog off the start.
