sensor above the oil filter?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons? just anything that is generally "engine" specific.

yep thats the crankshaft position sensor. its easier to replace the sensor since neons are notorious for puking CPS sensors.

Oil Pressure Sending Unit is on the drivers side of the motor. Those are known to leak too!!!!!

just try and seal it with some grey rtv. otherwise, buy a new one.

Applying RTV sealer on the outside is not going to stop the leak. You must remove the sensor. Be very careful, because they are very brittle and tend to be stuck in the hole. They also get a build-up of oil from the inside and when removed, they break.

Do the job the correct way once, take it from me. I have done this several times and removing it and replacing it works 100% of the time.

well i tried the rtv and it worked great for about a week now its the same as before or worse(N) i guess im gonna see if i can order a new o-ring, parts store here wants over $100 for the sensor so hopefully the o-ring will do it. do you know if its possible for the sensor itself to be leaking? from a crack or something? it looks fine and i dont see any cracks but who knows

COUPONS

Post by shelbydodge » Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:21 am

advanceauto.com has them for $69.99 (u.s.) plus type in: A123 in their coupon code section for additional $20.00 off a $50.00 purchase.

Or type in "lowest price auto parts" in any search engine to find low cost auto parts.

Once you find a good price, go into another search engine to see if that site has coupon codes available online.

You woulldn't believe the coupon codes that are out there on top of free shipping.
