junkyard power?
i have a 95 dohc acr neon, what are all the parts besides auto t.b. that i can take from other cars to make mine have more power? cams? injectors? head? anything? any help would be great

yes we wave this flag of hatred, but your the ones who made it
There are some reliability mods you can get. Rockers from 2.7 intrepid unsure of year I think 97-01? you would know if you seen them. The oil hole diverts the oil right on the cam roller instead of straight up.

There are two different style 2.7 rockers. My other ones are in my toolbox at work or I would take pics of the difference.

depends on how the junkyards are in your area. Mostly 300-400 for a complete engine, you dont need much more due to the fact your car is already setup for a DOHC. Go to Neons.org they have it in there engine swap section a little how to. Being handy with a wrench is a requirement though.

Also keep in mind that you'll need an adapter for the side motor mount, you'll need to grind away some of the front motor mount bracketry, mess with the cam magnet and you'll need either more fuel pressure to your stock injectors or 24lb injectors. You'll also probably be moved up a class if you're racing because of the swap. And you'll need to come up with your own solution to keep your PS if you want it, or buy one of the bracket kits that are made just for this swap.
I'm not trying to discourage you, but just keep in mind that it's not a direct swap in. If drag racing is your thing, then a 2.4 swap is a good way to get a lower powerband, more hp and torque, and an engine that's probably going to see more gains from each mod than the 2.0.

2.4L blocks in Maryland go for $110. New rods and main bearings, along with a fresh hone would get you off to a nice start. The oiling hole in the bearing plater should be bored to match the block, and the casting flash Roy addressed should be removed. Several littel things for some significant gains. I am doing it.
looks like im going to maryland for my block. Yeah theres many of things you can swap over the cams from your 2.0 to your 2.4. Also a easy cheap gain would be to remove the balance shafts from the block. Id do it if I were you.
