Anyone out there have any idea how to get the camshaft sprocket bolt out? I've tried everything I could think of.

Cam still in the head? cam gear still on? If the cam is still in the head wedge a screw driver or a wrench inbetween the cam gear and head to keep it from turning

The bolt on the sprocket won't break loose. the head is still on the engine.

It's in there tight, I think torque spec is 85 ft-lbs. I usually put a vice grips on the cam (not on the lobes, on the nasty looking cast part) and use that to hold it.

if you have access to an impact gun, hit it with a few taps and should pop it loose no problem without moving the cam.

Timming belt still on? If you had to you could keep it from moving by puting a wrench on the crank pulley bolt and try breaking the cam gear bolt loose

simple enough, if the cam is still in the head(or even if not I guess) hold a lobe with a big adjustable wrench while you break it loose
