swaping a newer block in my 97

Post by welches » Tue Nov 17, 2009 10:36 am

So i just picked up a 02 R/T mag block with a 2000 head with a mag cam in it. the heads on the block and new headgasket etc. but i have to do the timing etc. of course im buying a new T belt as i'm not retarted lol my main question is. will all my stuff on my old block fit the new block? As i have herd this is a drop in process.

I have many new and upgraded parts to go with this swap.

Box intake with mag runners and butterflys removed
60mm TB
aluminum fly wheel
3.94 tranny
pt clutch solid mounts
kirk long tube ETC.

I plan on using as much as i can from my old block. such as the T bels covers and some hard wear.

Also does anyone have a torq spec sheet for the SOHC? greatly appreciated.

As long as it's all SOHC it's all the same, except the newer (2003+?) 2.0's had mechanical tensioners.

Just use the timing marks on the crank sprocket to line it up.

The other problem with 03+ blocks is the NGC stuff, so they block is slightly different.
